Redwell Inn, Arkholme

ImageSituated in Arkholme, Carnforth, in the beautiful Lune Valley, the Redwell Inn is a 17th century coaching inn.  Long ago, a young stable boy died here, the victim of a fire in the stables.  Perhaps it was this young boy who, in 1985, was seen so clearly by the landlord’s father-in-law.  The boy appeared to be about ten years old and everything about him seemed very real, although his clothing was unusual; he wore breeches, clogs and a green woollen jumper.  But then he suddenly disappeared!

The landlord’s father-in-law may not have been the only person to see this young boy – his tiny grandson had sometimes been observed offering biscuits to empty air, before withdrawing his gift and saying, ‘Gone.’
